Have you ever wondered which bar sells the most PBR in the entire nation? I hadn’t either. Up until this past weekend, that is. But there I was in a Montana cowboy dive bar named The Remington, staring up at a plaque on the wall proudly declaring they were the #88 “Top PBR Volume Account in America.” So, naturally I got curious about who made up the top of that list. To keep up what has turned into sort of an aspiring tradition for us, Anna-Lisa and I skinned into the Fabi Hut from Aspen last week and did our best to fill the place with holiday cheer. It was a fun night out as huts are always a unique experience, and cool to visit the other Benedict Hut after spending Christmas Eve at Fritz’s three years ago. Read more…
It’s been quite the start to the snow season up here, at least in the northern mountains of Colorado. It seems like it’s been snowing more days than it hasn’t since mid-November, and Vail already has 62% of its terrain open as of December 16th. I can’t recall the Back Bowls opening this early in recent memory, nor can I recall wishing I owned a snow blower more than I have this month. With snow seasons in general being pretty hit or miss these days, needless to say, we’ll take it. Read more…
The White Rim Trail is a 100-mile long dirt road that carves out a massive loop around the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. The route weaves and winds through some of the most dramatic canyon country Utah has to offer and has slowly but surely evolved into one of the more famous “century” mountain bike rides in the U.S. Parties oftentimes take two to four days to complete the loop, camping at various locations along the way, but it’s also become a popular option to ride the entire thing in a single day push, which is what we decided to do.
